About Ronda Taylor ...

Ronda Taylor is also a TEDx speaker at the Fremont East Women where she shared the stage with one of our former interviewee, Christina Aldan.

However, she has embarked on another journey.  With so many years as a publisher she hasn’t yet written her own book.  She is now on a new quest to write her own book.  Little did she know that this journey would lead into the creation of a new company and a way to learn from other people.

Ronda's Travels ...

In November 2016 she sold her home and just about everything she owned in Las Vegas, NV.  She bought a one-way ticket to Costa Rica and this began an unprecedented journey across South America that ended up lasting 9 months.

Ronda started to interview women business owners all across South America.  This included countries like Costa Rica, Columbia, Nicaragua, Panama, and so many others.  These business owners included all levels of business.  Some of these women owned restaurants, some owned stores, and some simply bought and resold items on the streets.  All of them were making it work.

Her new book which is still being written will explore these women entrepreneurs.  Many times she needed the help of interpreters as she doesn’t speak much Spanish and they don’t speak English.  She simply traveled with 5 pairs of clothes, her computer, power banks, and her cell phone.

She didn’t spend more than 3 weeks in any one place and many times she was living outside in her hammock that she had with her.  There is so much to learn when you are travelling this way.  No souvenirs were bought because she would have to lug it around with her for months.  The only real souvenirs she had were photos from her camera and the memories and stories she collected along the way.

Mind you she was also still doing her book designs and publishing while on this trek.  Even though in many cases the Wi-Fi was spotty or even non-existence she had to learn how to run a business on the road.  As she calls it she was a Digital Nomad.

HeartWork Travels

Thus, her second company was born on this trek.  It is called HeartWork Travels.  You can see her adventures on her Instagram account at https://www.instagram.com/heartworktravels/

As of mid-February 2018 she is flying back to Columbia with a one way ticket to begin the second leg of her journey.
